From December 23 to 24, the 2024 National Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Conference was held in Beijing to summarize the achievements and experience of my country's intangible cultural heritage protection work in recent years and to deploy intangible cultural heritage protection work in the current and future period.
The meeting stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage, summarize the achievements and experience of my country’s intangible cultural heritage protection work; adhere to systematic measures to comprehensively improve the level of intangible cultural heritage protection and inheritance; strengthen talent team building and build a more complete working mechanism; strengthen organizational guarantees and implement various tasks of intangible cultural heritage protection and inheritance.
This meeting was held when "Spring Festival - Chinese people's social practice of celebrating the traditional New Year" was successfully included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. At the meeting, plaques were awarded to representatives of advanced collectives in the protection of intangible cultural heritage nationwide, and medals and certificates were awarded to representatives of advanced individuals in the protection of intangible cultural heritage nationwide. The cultural and tourism administrative departments of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and responsible comrades of relevant departments and directly affiliated units of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism attended the meeting, and some representatives at the meeting made exchanges.
